According to statistics from Vietnam's General Administration of Customs, Vietnam's fertilizer imports in August hit a record high in more than two years.
In August, Vietnam imported more than 472,000 tons of fertilizer worth $159 million, the highest import volume since July 2021.
In August, the volume of imported fertilizers increased by 54 percent over July, and the value increased by 85 percent.
China is the largest supplier of fertilizers to Vietnam so far this year, accounting for about half of the imported fertilizers, which exceeded 1.2 million tons worth $375 million, up 15 percent year-on-year in volume and 14 percent in value.
As of August, Vietnam imported nearly 2.5 million tons of fertilizer worth $833 million, up 13 percent from the same period last year, but down 19 percent in value from a year earlier.
