
In 2023, the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Africa is expected to exceed 10 billion US dollars, nearly doubling from a decade ago. In the next decade, the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Africa aims to exceed 20 billion US dollars.
This was introduced by Tang Renjian, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, at the 2nd China Africa Agricultural Cooperation Forum held in Sanya, Hainan on the 14th.
Tang Renjian stated at the forum that in recent years, the scale of China's imports of high-quality and characteristic agricultural products from Africa has grown rapidly, maintaining an average annual growth rate of over 10% even during the epidemic period. As of the end of 2021, the stock of agricultural investment by Chinese enterprises in Africa reached 12.8 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 11.4%, driving employment for over 30000 people. China will organize agricultural trade and investment promotion activities between China and Africa, continue to provide convenience for African countries to participate in China International Import Expo, China International Agricultural Products Fair, and other events, support the joint construction of agricultural cooperation parks, and strive to double the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Africa in the next decade, exceeding 20 billion US dollars. China encourages more business entities to enter Africa and increase investment in African agriculture through joint ventures and cooperation.
It is reported that the second China Africa Agricultural Cooperation Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the People's Government of Hainan Province, was held in Sanya, Hainan from November 13th to 15th.
