The Russian government has introduced a temporary ban on the export of certain types of sulfur, effective until December 31, 2025.
According to the government, the decision aims to stabilize raw material supplies for the domestic market, maintain current mineral fertilizer production volumes, and ensure the country's food security.
The restrictions apply to the export of liquid, granular, and lump sulfur. However, exceptions will be made for shipments to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as to the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia.
Sulfur exports will also be permitted when used for humanitarian aid, international transit, or to support Russian operations on the Svalbard archipelago.
