What to do if rice lacks zinc? Come and take a look

The soil in the rice field lacks zinc element, and rice may experience varying degrees of seedling failure. Rice seedling stiffness caused by zinc deficiency often occurs within 2-3 weeks after transplantation. So, what about zinc deficiency in rice?

Reasons for Zinc Deficiency in Rice

1. Zinc absorption disorders. In the soil of water drought rotation, a large amount of phosphorus fertilizer is applied, and the phosphorus zinc ratio in the soil solution is too high, which hinders the absorption and utilization of zinc by the root system. The extensive application of nitrogen fertilizer and excessive fertilization in acidic soil can hinder the absorption of zinc fertilizer, leading to zinc deficiency.

2. Poor development of rice roots in cold water fields with poor drainage and poorly ventilated muddy fields leads to reduced zinc absorption capacity, which can lead to zinc deficiency.

Prevention and control methods for zinc deficiency in rice

1. Leaf spraying. 0.1~0.2% zinc fertilizer can be sprayed during the 3-leaf stage of seedlings, 3-5 days before transplantation, and 5-7 days after field transplantation. The leaves can be sprayed 2-3 times with an interval of 4-6 days.

2. For zinc deficient soils, zinc sulfate of 1-1.5kg/mu or zinc containing compound fertilizers can be applied.

3. Scientific fertilization. Reasonable fertilization, control the balance of phosphorus and zinc nutrients, and improve the absorption of phosphorus and zinc by rice.

4. Reasonably control the water level in the field, strengthen the management of the water layer in the paddy field, and avoid long-term flooding of the paddy field.
