Carrot Field Management

1. Intercropping: When planting carrots, the method of sowing or drilling is generally used. After emergence, the seedlings are crowded and need to be intercropped 2-3 times.

2. Fertilization management: Carrot fertilization is mainly based on base fertilizer, using 3000-5000 kilograms of organic fertilizer per acre, plus 30-40 kilograms of urea, 40 kilograms of potassium sulfate, and 80 kilograms of superphosphate to mix the fertilizer and soil evenly.

3. Water management: Carrots should reduce watering frequency appropriately during the vigorous growth period of their leaves to control their vigorous growth. Carrots require a lot of water during the period of fleshy root enlargement, so they should be watered in a timely manner to prevent the pith caused by uneven watering or drought.

Precautions for carrots

When sowing carrots, it is necessary to control the row spacing and spacing of the seeds to prevent improper distance from affecting vegetable yield. After sowing, appropriate fertilization can be applied to the soil to increase nutrients for the plants.

Carrots have poor absorption capacity in the early stage of growth, so there is no need to fertilize the plants too much. In the later stage of planting, it is necessary to apply 2-3 times of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer to the plants, and the amount of fertilizer applied should not be too much each time to prevent fertilizer damage.

Carrots grow relatively fast, and can be harvested in 90 to 100 days during spring planting, and before winter during autumn planting.
