Ferric sodium EDTA is a derivative of Ethylenediamine Tetraacetic Acid.
Ethylenediamine Tetraacetic Acid is a Sequestering / Chelating Agent. EDTA is a synthetic amino acid. It is widely known as EDTA. It is a white powder. EDTA Acid is insoluble in water. Molluscicide: Used to kill snails and slugs in agricultural, nursery, greenhouse, and home and garden settings. Ferric sodium EDTA destroys the protein hemocyanin in mollusks, making it effective as a molluscicide.

Food additive: A source of iron that is added to foods for nutritional purposes. According to the Panel on Food Additives and Nutrient Sources, the iron from ferric sodium EDTA is 2 to 3 times more bioavailable than from other mineral sources. The panel also concluded that ferric sodium EDTA is safe at proposed use levels and does not raise concerns about carcinogenicity.

Chemical reaction regulator: Used in industry.

Soil amendment: Used as a fertilizer in consumer products.
