From November 13th to November 15th, the second China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation Forum hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hainan Provincial People's Government will be held in Sanya City. The theme of the forum is "Food Security in Africa, Writing a New Chapter in China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation". Guests attending the forum will focus on important initiatives such as "China's Plan to Assist Africa in Agricultural Modernization", conduct strategic docking and policy exchanges on China-Africa agricultural cooperation, and summarize cooperation results and experiences. and plan future cooperation.
This forum will invite ministerial leaders of the agricultural sector from African countries, envoys to China, representatives of the African Union Commission on Agriculture, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Agency, and representatives of non-governmental organizations such as the Gates Foundation and the African Green Revolution Alliance. At the same time, there will also be representatives from agricultural authorities, scientific research institutions and enterprises in various provinces and cities in China. The forum will also open multiple sub-forums around the themes of agricultural economic and trade cooperation, agricultural science and technology innovation cooperation, poverty reduction and rural development.
China and Africa continue to deepen practical cooperation in agriculture on institutional platforms such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. After the China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue in August this year, China released the "China's Plan to Assist Africa's Agricultural Modernization", proposing to help Africa expand the cultivation of food crops, encourage Chinese companies to increase agricultural investment in Africa, and strengthen agricultural scientific and technological cooperation in the seed industry. Promote the transformation and upgrading of African agriculture.
