The head of the agricultural department stated that compared to traditional agricultural planting methods, the biggest advantage of soilless cultivation is its conservation of water resources. Due to the use of closed irrigation systems in soilless cultivation, water that has not been absorbed by plants can be collected and recycled, resulting in a water saving capacity of over 60%. For Yemen, which has been plagued by water scarcity for many years, it is undoubtedly an ideal alternative method for agricultural cultivation. The purpose of introducing soilless cultivation is of course due to the current situation of water shortage. In the past, we only relied on digging wells for water, which was very expensive. In addition, Yemen's agricultural land is limited, so people also need soilless cultivation, which can achieve high yield in a very small space.
