Autonomous electric aviation startup Pyka announced the launch of its latest agricultural spray aircraft, the Pelican 2. This new model boasts an impressive 300-liter payload and a working capacity of up to 90 hectares per hour, making it the largest and most productive autonomous electric agricultural aircraft in the world.
Pyka has also achieved a significant regulatory milestone by obtaining FAA authorization for the commercial operation of Pelican 2 in the United States. This marks the second time Pyka has secured such approval for its uncrewed aerial system (UAS) products, with Pelican 2 being the largest UAS to receive FAA commercial approval to date.
Furthermore, Pyka has confirmed a significant order for 20 aircraft in Brazil, reinforcing its presence in one of the largest agricultural markets globally. This expansion is set to enhance large-scale autonomous aerial application operations in Brazil, improving efficiency and providing substantial cost savings to local farmers.
